WE'LL HELP YOU WIN THEM OVER

Since it takes less than a second to make a first impression, your headshot photo needs to capture you at your best. We’ll work with you onset to capture the most confident, authentic and approachable portrait and with these tips and tricks, you’ll already have a head start.

DRESS THE PART

Layers are always the best bet.  For example, a jacket or sport coat over a polo or a sweater over a tank.  It’s a flawless look. If you are going to wear white, go for the white shirt but wear it underneath a jacket or sweater.  And if you’ll be wearing clothes that have the potential to wrinkle, bring the outfit with you and change into it before your session.  When selecting your outfit, you’ll also want to be careful to avoid excessively busy patterns, bold stripes or logos. A splash of color such as orange or yellow is a nice touch but we’ll want to limit it a bit as the colors can be oversaturated in digital photography.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE

V-necks are great and accentuate your features but watch the neckline and avoid going too low. Gentlemen, to help with sweating, wear an undershirt that isn’t visible at your neckline.  Avoid wearing sleeveless tops as bare arms as this can be distracting and often takes attention away from your face.  If you’re having a corporate headshot done against a backdrop, you’ll want to know what color the backdrop will be so you can plan for contrast.  To play it safe, feel free to bring options to your session, a few shirts/tops, jackets and ties and we’ll help you put together the best look for your shoot.

CLEAN AND CLASSIC

For jewelry, think classic. Nothing too decorative or large as we want all of the the attention to be on you.  If you wear glasses, clean them right before you come into your portrait session.  If you’re wondering whether or not to wear them, consider how people are used to seeing you: with or without. If going with the clean shaven look, get that razor ready just before your session.  Facial hair can be visible just within a few hours of shaving.  If your planning on coloring your hair, try to schedule this with a trim a week before your session so the color can settle.

BE NICE TO YOU

Avoid excessive make-up and keep in mind once we have you on set everyone receives a quick powder to decrease shine and smooth the skin tones.  If you’d like to use your own, bring it along.  Have a blemish?  Have no fear.  We have Photoshop for that. Most importantly, be nice to yourself. If you partake, avoid alcohol for several days before your session, get a good night’s sleep and remember to hydrate.  Doing these things will help prevent under-eye bags and keep your skin looking smooth.

OUR RAVE REVIEWS

Tori took head shots of my company’s executive team and I highly recommend her for any corporate photography needs. She was easy to work with, exceeded expectations and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was pleased with the way their head shots turned out. Everyone on our team had a great experience and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with Tori again!

Tori is amazing to work with – she is professional, fun and kind and takes the most beautiful photos. We asked for a couple of things and the photos widely surpassed our expectations. I would highly recommend Tori for events in the Chicago area and look forward to working with her again in the future!

It was an intense and fun 4 days…and extremely successful!  So appreciated your flexibility and good humor as we worked our way through all of the photos we needed.  You were terrific with the models and that made the images so realistic. I look forward to seeing our end product in my book…I know it will make it a stand-out and we all hope a smashing success.

Tori has been our photographer for events for years, and for years she’s captured the both the joy of our students and the beauty of their craft. Tori’s ability to use her lens translates into beautiful photographs that means so much to our culinary programs and students.  She’s not only professional but a joy to work with, we’re lucky to have her time & support. I highly recommend Tori!!

I highly recommend Tori Soper for your next corporate event. She’s flexible, responsive and has an amazing eye. It can be difficult to bring the life of a conference out in photographs, but she managed to showcase both the energy and conversation in a beautiful way. Not to mention her editing turnaround time was lightening fast. They should get Tori a job running ORD — cause she sure knows how to run a smooth operation.

Tori made our employees feel so confident in front of the camera. With her easy-to-follow directions, personable and warm disposition, everyone felt relaxed. The staff had so many great things to say about working with Tori!  She produced flawless and wonderful portraits for our teams at each of our branches and we will definitely be bringing in Tori again as we add to our team.

We had worked with another photography company in the past and were unsatisfied with their work after multiple sessions. We hired Tori and when she she came in and the experience was night and day! She put us at ease right away and took time to explain to us what she could and could not do. She brought her assistant and a MUA for us and honestly I don’t think you could find a better team. They were time efficient, more than competent, reasonably priced and just had a great energy. I will absolutely use Tori Soper Photography in the future.

You were such a pleasure to work with and I hope we have more opportunities to collaborate again on other projects. I can tell you that everyone from G-W really enjoyed working with you and had great things to say about the experience.  You all are pros, and our textbooks will be awesome as a result of your talent and great images!

Tori was very easy to work with. She understood the project, worked quickly and independently, and always checked in at the right times. And of course, they’re some of the best portraits I’ve ever put in my magazine.

Tori stepped right in – with her trained assistant, lights, camera and expert eye. She took the time to tour our offices to choose workable settings, was fastidious with the lighting and shooting angles, and even swiped a few shiny brows with her makeup brush! Tori and her team were on time, well-prepared, worked well with all levels of our executive team, and delivered terrific results from the first session.

Tori Soper has been photographing our events for many years.  Her attention to details always ensures that we have the most dynamic photos for our events — even a room full of people staring at a speaker on stage! We work with Tori because we know we’ll not only receive great quality images as well as an innovative partner for our events.

Tori is a class act with a great eye and superb leadership and rapport on-site. She’s agile, committed, creative, effective and efficient. She strikes a great mood among executives during corporate headshots and really brought the spirit out of our professionals on a recent “candid” shoot in our offices. I would hire her again and again – for projects in Chicago and beyond. So pleased to have made a contact with an artist and partner like Tori who I can leverage across a variety of business needs.

Toris’ skill with the camera is unquestionable. Perfect poses, lighting and the just the right amount of editing. Add to that her ability to take an individual unaccustomed to being in front of the camera and putting them at their ease and you have the perfect recipe for a successful photo shoot resulting in beautiful images.

We are a consulting company, so our product is our people. We had Tori attend our annual team meeting and it was fun to participate! Now, we have real images of our actual team that we can use for so many things. I was told by so many colleagues how impressed they were with Tori and we are so happy with the results

Tori is an excellent photographer, and very versatile at handling a variety of subject matter from portraiture to events. She always brings a positive energy to her assignments. With portraiture in particular, she has a great skill for what may be the most important aspect of all…making the subject feel comfortable on camera.

I have worked with photographers for 16 Annual Conferences and none has provided better service, better pictures, or a better experience than Tori Soper. I have photographers with great energy and ones that deliver great pictures and ones that had excellent turnaround time, but never have I had the experience of all with one photographer. From start to finish Tori was a phenomenal asset to our conference and felt like an extension of our team. I highly recommend putting Tori Soper Photography at the top of your call list!
